Physical: very large tumbles about as big around as quarter Tiger’s Eye was discovered by minerologists in western South Africa during the early 1800s. Since then, it’s maintained high levels of popularity across the world. It is often collected in South Africa and Western Australia, but can also be found in various other places, like India, the US, Brazil, Canada, China, Korea and Spain. Being both extremely lustrous and a 6.5-7 on the Mohs Hardness Scale, it is often used as an attractive motif, being used for jewellery and ornamentation.
Fun fact: Roman soldiers wore engraved Tiger's Eye to protect them in battle, and it is still used as a protective stone!
