Physical: Carnelian has been around and in use for a long time, being used for beads since the Early Neolithic, around 5000 BC, in Bulgaria. Nowadays, it is mined primarily in India, but is also found worldwide. Mining spots include Brazil, Egypt and Uruguay. This stone is a 6.5-7.0 on the Mohs Hardness Scale, making it wonderful for carving and decorative arts.
Fun Fact: In ancient times, Warriors would wear Carnelian around their neck in order to summon courage and physical power to successfully conquer their enemies!
Metaphysical: Carnelian is said to enhance and revitalize the physical, mental and emotional bodies.
